19 Days Until Seminole Football

#19 – Roberto Aguayo

247Sports

Roberto Aguayo is a 6’1″ 208 lbs kicker out of Mascotte, FL. Aguayo has arguably the biggest but, indisputably, most colorful shoes to fill on the Seminoles roster this year. Four year starter and Seminole scoring record holder Dustin Hopkins is now with the Buffalo Bills, so Aguayo will fill the role of Seminole kicker. As one of the top rated kickers coming out of high school, he certainly has the leg and the talent to step in and continue what has become quite a kicking tradition at Florida State. This spring, Florida State fans got a glimpse of his promise as he nailed 5 of 6 field goals in the spring game including a 51 and 58 yarder. Only time will tell if he can hit those same kicks when the pressure is on, but Nole fans should feel confident heading into the 2013 season.

E.G. Green

E.G. Green was a 5’11″ 190 lbs wide receiver out of Fort Walton Beach, FL. Green was a 4 year letterman and 3 year starter for the Noles from 1993-97. After having mostly a reserve role as a redshirt freshman in 1994, Green exploded on the scene in 1995 with a 60 catch, 1007 yard, 10 touchdown season. Quickly becoming one of Danny Kanell’s favorite targets, Green was named 2nd Team All-ACC that year. The next season, with a Warrick Dunn led rushing offense and first year quarterback Thad Busby, Green’s numbers trailed off a bit as he caught 34 passes for 662 yards and 7 touchdowns. Those numbers, however, still led the team in each category. With passing the name of the game again in 1997, however, his numbers skyrocketed with career highs in yardage (1,059), average per catch (19.6), and touchdowns (11). That season, Green was named a 2nd Team All-American and 1st Team All-ACC. He finished his career as one of the All-Time great FSU wide receivers, 5th in career catches (166), 3rd in career yards (2,920), 2nd in career TDs (29), 3rd in career 100+ yard games (13), and one of only 2 Seminoles in history to have two 1,000 yard seasons. Green was drafted in the 3rd Round of the 1998 NFL Draft by the Indianapolis Colts and spent 3 years with the team playing in 30 games with 4 starts.
