26 Days Until Seminole Football

#26 – P.J. Williams

Defensive Back – 6’0″ 196 lbs – Junior

P.J. Williams exploded on the scene as a sophomore in 2013.  Rated as a safety out of high school, Williams was a 4* product that was somewhat under the radar as far as players go in the minds of Seminole fans.  He won a starting cornerback position last season, however, and became one of the top corners in the game as the season progressed.  Williams has a great combination of size, physical play, speed, vision, and an understanding of the game.  He led FSU in pass break ups and passes defended last year and finished with 35 tackles and 3 interceptions.  Williams didn’t get a lot of the recognition he deserved last season, probably due to lack of stats because of teams avoiding him, but he’s beginning to get that recognition this year.  Last month he was named to the Preseason All-ACC 1st team and also named as a candidate for the Jim Thorpe Award, Bronko Nagurski Award, and Bednarik Award.  Williams is expected to be an early round NFL draft pick in the 2015 draft.
