#14 – Brad Johnson

Quarterback – 6’6″ 217 lbs – 1987-1991

Brad Johnson is arguably the greatest NFL Quarterback to come out of Florida State.  While in Tallahassee, however, he was only a part time starter.  That certainly is not an indictment of his talent, as he was replaced by the 1991 Heisman Trophy runner up in Casey Weldon.  After just throwing 25 passes in his first 3 years on campus, Johnson was named the starting quarterback in the 1990 season.  He performed pretty well, but struggled turning the ball over with 3 interceptions against Virginia Tech and an interception against Miami.  After the Miami loss, Weldon was named the starter and Johnson would only throw 81 more passes over the last season and a half in Tallahassee.  Johnson, however, had a respectful NFL Career playing for 17 seasons, making 125 starts, quarterback the 2003 Super Bowl Champion Tampa Bay Buccaneers, being named to the 2000 Pro Bowl, and throwing for 29,054 yards.
