Mario Pender has had a difficult start to his career in Tallahassee, but looks poised to finally break out in his 3rd year on campus. In 2012, Pender redshirted after a bad groin injury forced him to miss the entire season. Unfortunately, he didn’t take care of his academic requirements while rehabbing and he missed the 2013 season because of it. Pender has buckled down and turned himself around, though, earning Academic Warrior status the last two semesters. On the football field, Pender looks ready to contribute and had a good spring and fall thus far. His talents have never been in question and he has great speed and quickness with big play potential every time he touches the ball. Heading into the season Pender will be the #2 guy behind Karlos Williams and will get plenty of opportunities to show his skills.
