I was surprised when I initially started having these reactions, but as I've aged and become (hopefully) a little wiser, I understand the reasons for this. These are people associated with enjoyable memories and good times in my life. Their passing evokes a strong sense of nostalgia and an appreciation for their contribution to my happiness.

Also, seeing more and more of my age contemporaries pass on forces me to focus on the reality of my own mortality and how quickly life goes by. The latter doesn't sound like a good thing, but it is because it tells me to embrace family and friends and to grab life by the 'nads while I'm still able to do so.

My apologies for a rather somber, heavy post entering a weekend, but it's food for thought, IMO. Also, it gives me hope that maybe I have some redeeming qualities afterall. That said, I found the soy stuff to be interesting -- I had heard that soy had lots of estrogen in it and that boys should avoid it.
