with only 7 losses we have the fewest of anyone and therefore currently the statistical leader in College baseball.
Do not expect it to last ......our last 13 games (before ACC and NCAA tourneys) are against pretty good competition Maryland & Clemson are both top 40 teams and NCSt is #14. stetson is even #50 in RPI. JU is the only losing team we have left.
After that the ACC has 5 teams in the top 20 and 5 more between 31 and 39. As good as the SEC is, they are not as highly ranked as the ACC teams.
I don't want to bring the bad Ju ju but we have a shot this year because of excellent D & senior leadership and decent pitching (thanks to the young guys) and hitting (we have the top 2 hitters in the ACC).
We need to go out strong in order to get both the regional and super. I think barring a complete meltdown we have a regional locked up and if we win 3/4 of our remaining games and get at least to the semi finals of the ACC we will get a Super too.
