Chemo Update 5/6

The Chest Tube was removed at noon today! Bill didn't even flintch when it was pulled. He is feeling so much better that his IV Dilaudid pain meds were stopped and he has been doing well this afternoon with just Tylenol.
He has been weaned off his oxygen but seems to have a little cold that is causing him to cough. His lungs are still recovering from a pleural effusion but he is walking around the halls at a normal pace. We even sat outside for a few minutes of fresh air this evening.
Getting his diet regulated is now the biggest task ahead and will realistically take months to a year to accomplish. He is drinking plenty of clear fluids and having a few Boost shakes at this point. We look forward to meeting the dietary/nutrition team tomorrow.
His discharge is within our sights which feels amazing! God has been so good
