I think they should send them to every phone like they do BUT - Today
have the phone decide whether to go off with it or not. Use phone motion. If the phone is moving, for example, then you can assume the person is up and about, either walking around with the phone or driving in a car, whatever. Amber Alerts to cell phones ... good idea or bad idea? - Today
I fall on the side of bad idea, at least the way they're currently administered. I was awakened last night at 1:30 AM by a loud harsh grating sound and it took me several seconds to come fully awake enough to stop it. Then once I managed that I lay awake with an adrenaline rush ... because let me tell you that sound demands action. totally clueless as the front car at a left turn. I waited maybe 4 seconds or so and finally tooted the horn. Just as I toot the horn, the arrow turns yellow. But instead of looking up at the light the guy looks up into his rear view mirror to glare at me for daring to blow my horn at him. But Barron came from Big 12 country, did not like it, and was not going to allow FSU to go that route short of him being killed. He as much as said that in his "damage control" email that came out shortly after our booster chairman said publicly that we should be open to outside overtures. One of the reasons FSU chose the ACC in the first place was because in 1991 the ACC paid out more money per school than any other conference. Yes the whole easier to compete argument is still there as well but it is documented that the ACC paid out the most $$ per school back then.
