Freshman
Wide Receiver
5’10” 160 lbs

D.J. Matthews is a true freshman wide receiver out of Jacksonville, Florida.  Matthews was a consensus 4* recruit and one of the highest rated wide receivers in the 2017 class.  He has excellent quickness and is a danger with the ball in his hands in space. With a fairly thin receiving corps in 2017, Matthews may be asked to make a contribution early in his career.

RS Senior
Defensive Back
6’0″ 214 lbs

Nate Andrews returns for another year in Tallahassee as one of the last remaining holdouts from the 2013 National Championship team.  Andrews is a smart, savvy ballplayer that, early in his career, showed a propensity for making big plays on defense.  He excels in the money role at quasi linebacker when FSU goes to a six defensive back look, but also is solid at the back end.  He can struggle some in space, but he is a solid player that can be counted on. He’ll most likely play a backup role this season while logging plenty of snaps.
