Tre’ McKitty is a true freshman tight end out of IMG Academy. He was a 3* out of this year’s high school recruiting class and enrolled early in January of this year. McKitty is a big bodied tight end that has drawn some early praise from coaches. With some quality upperclassman tight ends on the roster, McKitty is most likely a redshirt candidate for the 2017 season.

Matthew Thomas came into Tallahassee as a highly touted and sought after 5* out of Miami. After redshirting in 2013, Thomas played in eight games during 2014 making three starts while showing flashes of his potential, but also playing inconsistently and undisciplined at times. He missed the entire 2015 season in a combination of suspension and injury. He came back in 2016 to lead the team in tackles during his first year as a full time starter. While he hasn’t lived up to the hype of his recruiting, Thomas has one more season to put it all together as he began to show in the latter half of 2016. There is no doubting his physical abilities, or the Noles need for him to become the player of his potential. Thomas has missed almost all of fall camp for an undisclosed reason, but Jimbo Fisher insists that he will be back soon and won’t miss any game time.
